Senior Counsel

Enrique Granados, is an Attorney, Notary Public and also a well known Opera Singer, who speaks Spanish, Italian and English.

In 1959, he began his studies at the University of Costa Rica: Faculty of Arts and Sciences. In 1965, he graduated from Law School and in 1969, he graduated from the Conservatory of Music. In 1973, he specialized in Air and Space Law, degree awarded by the National Institute of Air and Space Law, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Experience

Professionally, Attorney Granados has worked in both public and private sector.

Positions Held in Public Sector:

•Clerk of the First Criminal Hall (1959 to 1965).
•General Director of Immigration Department (July 1966 to September 1968).
•General Director and Chairman of the Board, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as Ambassador (September 1968 February 1970).
•Cultural Counselor and then Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Costa Rica in Buenos Aires, Argentina (March 1970 December 1978).
•In November 1999, he had the high honor to be appointed, by the President of Costa Rica, as the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, as well as, President of the Costa Rican Institute of Sport and Recreation (ICODER) and President of the Board of the Melico Salazar Popular Theatre.

•Official Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (1968).
•Honorary Citizen of the City of New Orleans, USA (1969).
